My poor baby is sick!

These pics are from yesterday. I call this her boy outfit! With no bows in her hair, in this she really does look like a boy! That day daddy showed her how he wrestles with her brothers at home. Kind of give her some lessons on how they like to play! She was all for it!

Our sweet baby is sick today! When we got there they took us to a whole different part of the orphanage. They said she had a fever. We were only allowed to stay for a half hour. A half hour of cuddling my baby that I could tell didn't feel good. My nurse/mommy feelers were out, and she doesn't sound junky, and her breathing was ok, so hopefully its nothing big. I kind of feel like the finger is pointing at us as who got her sick. Unfortuntely, it may be true. Although we are not sick, she has never stepped foot out of the orphanage. Her little body is not used to the little, everyday bugs we all are exposed too. I think the first few months of having her home might be one sicky after another. My poor baby!
Court is scheduled for Monday, and if you don't already know it, I can say her real name then. Then the next day we are headed home!

  1. Lacey, these pictures literally brought me to tears. I love seeing your beautiful DAUGHTER reaching out to Daddy's face. LOVE!

I am sorry that she is sick. As you said, she will have to build up an immune system and that is a good thing for her. :) I hope that court Monday comes and goes with no issues.

Again, seriously ... those pictures! I love them. :)

  2. Oh...poor sweetie. You know, I was shocked that Stas has been totally healthy since we've gotten home even when we have all been sick.

Just check for h. pylori on her when you get home!!!

  5. Oh boo hoo, it stinks when babies are sick in there. Don't blame yourself though, our little ones were continuously sick with runny noses, etc when we were there... but then so were all the other kids!

She is beautiful dressed as a boy or girl!

  7. Yes as you said she may get sick a lot when she first gets home. Our babies have been home for almost a year now and they get sick about once a month right now. It seems they have caught everything and very fast. Many other people that adopted said that this passes after the first year. I am praying that is true. We have 10 kids, so when one gets sick, they all do. Im glad you have stopped getting so many nasty comments. I was soo angry about that. I know that was hard for you, but I am glad you stood your ground and did not crumble. God is with you every step you take and knows your heart. He will be with you to the end . God Bless you for stepping out in Faith and doing this with having a sick fragile child at home. You are an amazing mother and I can not wait to see your baby girl at home where she belongs. God Bless You, Leah
